Cheaper Than Rubies is a collaborative blog effort started by two young Australians, with the aim of providing a platform and support for young, female writers who want to write about their own interests and experiences in their own way.
What’s in a name?
“Cheaper Than Rubies”. You’re probably thinking it’s a weird name for a blog. But with every name, there is a story…
It all started when we stumbled across this little gem, also known as Proverbs 31:10.
“Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.”
The verse then goes on to talk about all the virtues held dear in Biblical times… And well, we don’t feel a need to fit that mould.
We’re female twenty-somethings with a love of politics, culture, sex, knowledge and a good time, and we’re not afraid to ruffle a few feathers.
We don’t want to be what other people want us to be. We know our own worth. We are the Rubies.

When are you lovely ladies going to update again?
Hopefully very soon! There’s been a lot happening in the lives of all the Rubies, and we’re trying to get together to get kickstarted again!
Yay! Happy to hear it
